Summer Madness 2005
Currently Listening to "Jailbreak" from Thin Lizzy's live album "Live & Dangerous", which i picked up in HMV today for a cool £4. This will easily waste away 75 mins on that damn long flight tomorrow morning.
But anyways, the last 4 days have dragged. In fact they may have been 4 of the draggiest days i've ever had. However, they were good draggy days, coz i spent them at Summer Madness, which this year was easily the best one i've been to. Our little campsite ruled supreme over the ones who decided to settle for sofabeds, or even go as low as caravans (:.
But yea, sharing a site with JME, Rach, Helen, Phil, occasionally Matty, and that other dude was great fun. Our telecommunications devise was a great invention, greatly helping the need to communicate without having the security guards clamp down on us like they were scared of noise. Actually, none of them came near our pitch of grass, probably because they'd seen my bigdaddy of a supersoaker, which would turn them soggy in seconds.
The Jimbo & Shane show shall be hailed as a big success. I've been to Xtreme since it started, but there is still plenty of material to keep it as funny as ever. H&F must make a return sometime, as must some of those damn funny video clips. And Shane from Ohio should make a return too...
What else happened?? Well there's Tre Sheppard, who is one of the greatest speakers on earth. The 3 stories along with impressions of his father were damn funny, and coz of these every time he spoke he got a point across. Also, his idea with the mobile phones on Saturday night was one of the greatest things i've ever seen. As was the African drums/Bodhran/Lambeg Drum thing up on stage, promoting unity across the people of Ireland. Whoever had that idea needs to have their hand shaken.
That drumming group on Sunday afternoon was also awesome, it was just a full on freelance improv thing with whatever sorta percussion you wanted. I signed up for more info on them, and i certainly hope to get it.
Apart from all that, we just chilled, messed about, ate, slept, stayed up late, beat each other up and played guitar. It was totally awesome. When i remember more of what happened (i'm kinda sleep deprived), i will post it.
Anyways, i'll be in the States for the next two weeks - have fun, stay safe, and don't set anything too dangerous on fire!
