The first update for a while

Anyone want any cheese?? I grated a bit too much to put on my big mash of pasta & chunky chicken which i have just devoured for my dinner at 11.40pm. Yea.

Can anyone guess what song i'm listening to?? Go on. Yes, it's Mad World!! I have decided that listening to this song in moderation is alright, but it's still damn annoying all the same. Specially when it becomes your morning wake-up call for almost an entire week....you know who i'm talking about ;).

Anyways, i went to see Bands Battle it Out tonight. It was good, though i rekon SRO could put on a show of quality music with their virtuosoness, and with a bit of practise. There were four bands, some pretty good, some not that great, but the sound didn't help in places. Also, they had a special guest band for the night. Two or three of their songs were good, but two things to do with them were pretty annoying:

Number 1 applies to ALL bands (and of course is only my opinion). "Where is the Love" is not a good song to cover and punk up. It a stupid, annoying song in the first place, and it is still just as annoying with a guitar palm muting the chords instead. I rekon in the last while i've heard 3 bands pull this song off, and it's tripe. One of the other bands there pulled off a pretty good version of "Love in an Elevator" by Aerosmith. Even though this wasn't as tight or accurate as "Where is the Love" was, it was 1000 times better, because that Aerosmith song is a truly great song. So if i'm ever a judge in some band contest, don't play a cover of that Black Eyed Peas song, or i'll have your bass amp blown up and your drum kit confiscated for my personal use.

Number 2 wasn't that annoying, but it's to do with their drummer. I'd call him RoboDrummer. From the name you'd probably guess that he played the drums like a robot, as he used his two arms as if he had no pivots in them to hit those drums. Note that i don't care if he plays the drums like this, that's personal choice, but it was because he started skipping out bits in the rhythm to rest his tired arms. If he didn't play like a robot, his arms would be lovely and muscular and he would be able to play til the cows come home. Even so, RoboDrummer is a pretty cool name, so he is actually got the makings of a legend.

Stevie P needs a technician to play about with his super-fast broadband. Did anyone notice his super-slow transfer speed??
