Eventfulish
Since i ended up using one of my days off to their full potential, i'm going to write about that day. However, this is probably going to be quite similar to JME's blog post about his day in Dublin, as i went to the Guinness Brewry, and ended up at a show.
Guinness Brewry first then. They output 3 million pints of the black stuff a day, and Berlin is the leading city in the world (bar Ireland obviously) for Irish pubs, standing at 32. That's pretty much what i learnt there. However, it is a pretty interesting place, and the exhibitions are good. The Gravity Bar also has good views of the city, and that's where i had my "Complimentary soft drink".
Anyways, ended up on the tour bus again, and we got a kickass guide! He sung folk songs of course, but also cracked jokes about everything around him. Examples: "Today my name has been Joe, although it may change tomorrow", etc. etc., and he also just ripped jokes at everything in a lovely good natured way. So i tipped him. On another bus we also learnt that a few hundred years ago Christ Church and St Patrick's Cathedrals were a bit short of cash and needed repairs. So apparently Guinness funded one cathrdral and Jameson's the other! Haha!
After that we wandered for a while, and visited good old Grafton street, where there was a group of buskers called 'The Slovak Dulcimer Ensemble', who were brilliant, so we bought their CD. I also stumbled upon the 'Music Maker' music shop in Temple Bar, where their basement is basically drum heaven!
Ended up going to see Starlight Express at The Point. That's the Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical where they are all on rollerskates. And it was very enjoyable, with some pretty class music. And some cool stunts. Therefore i would go again!
So that was my productive day. All the motorway & duel carriageway meant we got home in just under two hours. Now i'm currently looking at going to see Faithless and Kasabian down there, on results night!
